Laughing Stocks is a wholly Australian-owned crafting workshop, where each pair of poles is handmade to order by Richard Wong, a mountain-born carpenter/furniture-maker and avid resort and backcountry skier.

Richard uses a collection of chisels, draw knives, saws, planes and antique hand tools passed down from his grandfather, Ted Hutchinson, to craft individual bamboo stocks of great beauty and longevity.

Laughing Stocks uses ‘Calcutta Bamboo’, one of the planets strongest species of bamboo, to fashion ski poles that not only embody the qualities of eco-friendly Slow Design, but will last for decades, whilst offering an environmental and ethical addition to your ski gear. Choose from a range of coloured grips and baskets to match to your own personal style.
